I've caught the bug from OLU. xP I like coming up with ideas for sites, whether I make them or not- and I sometimes like just making sites whether they die or I never open them- So I thought...Hey, why not have a place where we can all spam our ideas for forums? They can be rping forums, discussion forums, whatever. OPEN TO E'ERBODY.
You don't have to plan on ever making a site to share an idea. Feel free to share ideas even if you don't really want to make a site for them! You can also use this to ask people if they'd ever join a site you may be interested in creating too, of course.

I know one idea I had was solely for Disney animated series characters (Kim Possible, Hercules, Mighty Ducks, etc.) all existing in one world for some reason. It'd be kind of like Fandom Collision.
oh man you know, I was actually wondering if a site like that existed! TBH I would love the heck out of a site like that. >.> the animated series chars need love too.
--- So, I know I have that site I just made. Though that was more for friends and fun, and most sites of that particular genre are dying...plus the fandom tends to be crazy, so I'm afraid to do a whole lot of advertising. (And there's some fun dramaz between two people, including one I partially made the site for, so...Yeah. But I won't get into that now.)
OLU's awesome multifandom site, and people mentioning Halloween got me thinking of the one multifandom site I started but never quite went anywhere with. Probably mostly because I didn't really have a plot or anything, but...XD It was kind of a Halloweeny site, I think I called it bump in the night, and it was for canons, fan characters, and completely original characters (Yes, I wanted that mesh), of spooky, halloweeny, and/or supernatural themes. For the canons and fanchars, I would allow people to draw from computer and video games, comics, books, movies, anime, television, and movies...Pretty much everything, provided they fit the theme somehow. And some things people might not think fit the theme could worm their way in like, say, phantom of the opera. (Though those of us who know it exists outside of the musical know the phantom is kind of a classic Halloween 'monster'.) or even maybe something like gargoyles!
So I mean you could have scooby doo chars, casper, chars from light-hearted kid halloween stuff...All the way to darker characters like Dracula from the Van Helsing movie or something.
I would have to make some cutoffs of course. I wouldn't make the mistake of allowing anything and everything. Slasher movie icons and characters that exist for pure gorey things would not be allowed. Though I might make a few exceptions here like..Say if somebody wanted to play a character from a movie that's rated R but isn't a total slasher fest- like from tim burton's sleepy hollow. I know that's pushing it and could cause whining if I ever did this, but. IDK, that seems like toeing the line but still being okay?
One of the things I wouldn't be sure about though is multiple forms of a char. Some characters, like dracula, the headless horseman, erik, the mummy, etc, have quite a lot of forms. Some of which are vastly different from one another. My personal opinions on the matter tell me to only accept one version of a canon, but I know that could cause problems...especially if people pick a fairly unpopular version. Fanchars would have some rules with them of course to try and prevent mary sues, gary stus, and things like that. But I also would allow them. I'd only really put limitations if there were too much of a certain kind or not enough canons or anything like that. Otherwise I'd be pretty lenient on the amount allowed..Though I would debate on making a rule that you could only have a max of 3 or 4 fanchar and original chars combined if you didn't have at least one canon. And if you play at least one canon, then you don't have those same restrictions.
xP Then the next problem would be a plot and figuring out areas and nonsense like that. Though I would be tempted to go the way I did on the old bump in the night, and that was I made a bunch of boards for infamous places like sleepy hollow, salem, places that were canon to some media, and then kind of made up my own random stuff like RANDOM DARK FOREST..While also making a board where people could provide suggestions for new places. They would have to fill in the description, give a title, etc. I could do that for sub-boards as well, but laziness would tell me to just skip sub-boards entirely unless I had some help adding them in.
As far as plot, i wouldn't even know... I think the site had something like HALLOWEEN NIGHT HAS SOMEHOW BEEN MADE ETERNAL, ALL THE SUPERNATURAL THINGS ARE BACK OH NO THIS IS COMPLETE MADNESS.
but that seems a bit much and I'm not sure about it, so...lol unless I was hit with brilliant inspiration or had people to brainstorm with and come up with a plot, I would be inclined to just y'know do one of those 'DO WHATEVER THE HECK YOU WANT!!!' and let members forge their own plots, while the staff would occasionally come up with things members could sign up for, and all that jazz. Kind of like the larger fantasmic in some ways, yeah. Freeform of that nature.
On the characters, with canons, I'd let people start them off at whatever point they wanted honestly, as long as it was within reason. And if they wanted to play a char who died, they could be totally AU and ignore canon and bring them back like they'd never died, or some nonsense like that. people would of course have to be careful with their original original chars. I'd let them be played ,but I'd advise caution because you never know if people will steal something
BUT YEAH....
hahah i am most likely too lazy to do this, and i don't have the graphics savvy to make my own skin that would look gud. I mean I would be half tempted to do this on proboards, since I can make custom titles (and still have some from the old site), and actually upload a Halloweeny-themed skin, but...It wouldn't look gud since my coding knowledge is zilch, and I'd probably want to do it on invision. Which i know even less about coding wise, so it'd be a pre-made skin. XD a dark-themed one, not halloween.

Unfortunately it doesn't, because outside their respective fandoms the animated series are ignored by Disney fandom at large. >> IKR?

That really sucks to hear that Pokemon RP sites are dying out and about all the fandom drama. I hope your site can hang in there for a while.
I remember Bump In The Night, and I think it was a great idea. Don't they have sites or something where you can drop off site ideas for adoption? Even if we can't do these ideas ourselves, maybe someone else could take them up.

I remember the Phantom being part of the Universal movie monster lineup. This is OT, but I still remember reading a book version of the movie when I was in grade school and being scared to go to sleep later on that night because I thought the Phantom was in our closet, lol.

I would only allow character doubles if they were really different from one another: IE, the Lon Chaney Imhotep vs. the Arnold Voosloo version.

:/ That's so unfair! I wish this wasn't the truth, but sadly you're right. They only seem to be welcome on rare forums, and sometimes even then people are picking and choosing favorites and some of the cartoons STILL get the short end of the stick. WHY CAN'T THIS EXIST INTERNET BAW. ---------

Haha it's definitely 'hanging' in some way. I think the main problem, beyond the lack of advertising and sites dying off, is that the friends who joined were all fired up at first...But then lives got busy, school is coming around the corner. It's just one of those times where people like the idea, but just don't have the time or the motivation to put into it. But, things happen right?
Hm, I think they just might on some of those rpg directory sites. I'll have to look into it, because man, if somebody took it up and made a pretty site I'd probably join and be like OMG YAY. <3333

I'm so glad somebody else knows he's technically a classic 'monster'. And which book was this? I only ask because the phantom of the opera actually was originally just a book by Gaston Leroux; the movie, musical, etc, everything is based off that. and lol awwww, that's so adorkable! That makes me smile.

I think that's a good idea, because chars like that ARE different enough, while some just aren't.
I'd join at some point. XD
IF ONLY I COULD MAKE PRETTY SKINS. I mean i suppose i could always just make it on invision with a premade, but still. -le sigh-
speaking of invision though, how are things going with tempest tossed?
